What Is the LAB?

The LAB is a clinical decision-support and treatment-planning metatechnology. It helps practitioners organize multiple sources of information within a continuous workflow: Understand → Assess → Visualize → Plan → Program → Adapt The LAB does not replace professional judgment or require one assessment, curriculum, or treatment model. It provides a structure for connecting information across tools, measures, people, settings, and points in time. Its purpose is to help clinicians maintain one coherent clinical story: what matters to the learner and family, what the learner can do now, what may support further development, what treatment should include, and how the team will know whether treatment is helping.

About the Course

The Learning and Adaptive Behavior (LAB) Meta-Technology is designed to help behavior analysts connect the many parts of clinical practice into one coherent system. Rather than treating interviews, assessments, goals, curricula, service recommendations, and progress monitoring as separate activities, the LAB organizes them within a continuous clinical workflow. Across this 8.5-CEU course, participants follow the LAB process from the first conversation with a learner or family through assessment, visualization, treatment planning, curriculum development, and ongoing adaptation. Participants will work directly with the LAB while considering how its tools and processes can be individualized for the learners, families, organizations, and systems they serve. Your enrollment includes both the complete training course and access to the LAB clinical tool. Learning Objectives Following completion of this course, participants will be able to: -Explain the conceptual foundations and interconnected components of the LAB Meta-Technology. -Apply the LAB workflow to understand context, assess developmental repertoires and learning processes, and visualize clinically relevant patterns. -Integrate assessment findings, professional judgment, and learner and family priorities to establish individualized goals and treatment parameters. -Develop individualized curricula and Dynamic Treatment plans that specify what will be taught and how instruction may be delivered. -Use repeated assessment and progress data to adapt programming, treatment intensity, and service recommendations over time.

Connect the Clinical Story Bring interviews, assessment findings, priorities, goals, treatment parameters, and progress data together within one organized clinical process.

Individualize Treatment Develop treatment plans and curricula around the learner rather than requiring the learner to fit a single assessment, curriculum, or teaching technology.

Adapt Over Time Use repeated assessment, progress monitoring, and clinical reasoning to revise goals, teaching approaches, treatment intensity, and service recommendations.

More Than a CEU Course

Your enrollment provides more than access to recorded instruction. It includes the training, tools, and guided practice needed to begin using the LAB in professional practice. Participants who complete the training receive: -8.5 BACB Learning CEUs -Nearly six hours of video instruction -Access to the LAB Meta-Technology workbook -Guided Dynamic Touchpoints completed within the LAB -The LAB Norm Table for incorporating age-norm comparisons -The LAB Technical FAQ -Structured interviews and contextual-planning tools -Dynamic Treatment planning and customization guidance -Knowledge checks and reflective activities -A completion certificate documenting earned CEUs The course is designed for behavior analysts who want a more integrated way to move from information and assessment to individualized treatment using the LAB, and to continue adapting that treatment as learners and circumstances change. During the course, you will learn how to: -Gather and organize information using the STAGE Interview, STAGE Analysis, Context Planning, and PATHS Interview. -Examine learner development using the LAB Pathways and LAB Pivots assessments. -Visualize performance using the LAB Performance Matrix and age-norm comparison tools. -Translate assessment findings into individualized goals and treatment parameters. -Develop a Treatment Planning Map and individualized treatment goals. -Consider medical necessity, case acuity, service authorization, and treatment titration. -Build an individualized Curriculum Map. -Select and organize teaching programs around the learner. -Develop Dynamic Treatment Considerations. -Customize and preserve a reusable LAB template for your professional setting. -Repeat the process over time to monitor progress and modify treatment.
